Kids in a classroom

As I returned to my old school with a fanfare and a red carpet, I realised I had instead fallen asleep on the long train journey from Bristol. But soon enough, I had actually arrived, ready to impart all the inside knowledge I had about being a first year Computer Science student at Bristol to pupils. My timetable amazed and angered them, the long list of 3rd year options excited them (would you expect anything less from units such as “Sustainability, Technology and Business”?), but if anything won them over to the cause, it was the speedtest.net results.

In all seriousness, it was a really great thing to do – I had loads of questions to answer from enthusiastic pupils, and having to explain what you actually do in CS made me realise how much I enjoy it. I’d definitely recommend taking part.
